Corporate Partnerships

Could your business partner with Think Ahead Stroke?

Around 1,000 people experience stroke in Wigan every single year, and around two thirds of stroke survivors leave hospital with life changing disabilities.

Founded in 2000, Think Ahead Stroke is dedicated to improving the lives of stroke survivors, their carers and families by rebuilding health, hope and confidence through support, advice and friendship.

We’re looking for local businesses to join us in a mutually beneficial partnership that promotes stroke prevention, identification and care, and supports your company’s social and business objectives.

Ways we can work together

Choose Think Ahead Stroke as your partner charity of the year

By choosing us as your charity of the year we can work together to build a bespoke calendar of engaging fundraising activities for your people.

Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving is a great way for employees to make monthly donations to charity, straight from their salary, before tax is deducted. It’s easy for employers to set up and shows strong charitable support.

Take part in our Dragon Boat Racing Day

Our annual Dragon Boat Racing Day is a fun and exhilarating opportunity for team building whilst supporting stroke survivors and carers. Enter a team of eight and prepare for a unique day of adrenalin and a lot of laughs.

What can you expect from a corporate partnership with Think Ahead Stroke?

Think Ahead will work with you to understand your goals, set objectives and engage with your people. Think Ahead will produce a range of tailored communications which will promote the understanding of stroke, in particular stroke prevention and identification.

Here are some examples of what we can offer your organisation:

  • Dual branded F.A.S.T Stroke identification posters
  • Dual branded stroke prevention or FAST animation for digital content
  • Promotion of partnership via Think Ahead Stroke’s social media channels:
    • Twitter – 5,500 followers
    • Facebook – 2,700 page likes
  • Promotion of partnership in the local and regional media
  • A presentation to your management team or employees on stroke identification and prevention
  • A discounted boat at Think Ahead Stroke’s annual Dragon Boat Racing Day

We couldn’t do all our vital work without the kindness of fundraisers and the generosity of those people who sponsor them. We will work with you to identify fundraising opportunities for your colleagues.

In return for your kind donations, after every 12-month period, Think Ahead Stroke will provide a tailored report explaining how the funds will be spent and the difference they will make to the lives of stroke survivors and their carers across Wigan.

HE Simm’s HR Manager, Victoria Simm, said: “We’re really pleased to have Think Ahead Stroke on board to help us raise awareness of stroke.

“The Think Ahead Stroke team is a pleasure to work with, they are incredibly helpful and professional, and they have come up with an engaging and informative bespoke package of activity that will not only educate our workforce about stroke, but will help us to meet our corporate CSR objectives and increase engagement right across the business.”

I am a stroke survivor and found the Think Ahead charity to be an invaluable source of support, comfort, advice and information at a very difficult time in my life. This is my way of thanking everyone at Think Ahead for the help they have given me and will hopefully enable me to give something back, now that I am capable of doing so.
