Founded in 2000, Think Ahead Stroke works with health professionals to provide support for stroke survivors and provide opportunities for the community to learn about stroke and get involved with stroke support.
In light of recent events, Think Ahead Stroke has addressed all areas of its operations. Peer mentoring, groups and activity services are now being moved online.
The best way that Think Ahead can connect with stroke survivors across the Borough is via its front-line health professionals. Nurses, GPs, practice nurses, occupational health practitioners, physiotherapists and therapists all come into daily contact with stroke survivors – and can help Think Ahead Stroke help their patients.
No matter what stage you’re at in your stroke recovery there are steps you can take to improve your health and quality of life. Think Ahead Stroke can help stroke survivors from day one, leaving the hospital, transport & getting around, house & home, money & finances and getting out-and-about again.
Think Ahead Stroke organises a variety of carefully developed and accessible group activities and classes for stroke survivors. In light of the Covid-19 pandemic we now offer a range of virtual activity groups for stroke survivors.
