Think Ahead Stroke has launched an email update created specifically for local heath and social care professionals.

The update will provide a breakdown of all the various services and programmes currently available through the charity, and how to access them.

The newsletter will be useful to anyone working with and supporting stroke survivors or those who care for them, including professionals working in primary care, GPs, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and community nurses.

The first edition went live on 29th July, and included a profile of Re-ablement Support Worker Angela Eatock, and why she works with Think Ahead Stroke and the reasons why she refers stroke survivors and carers to the charity.

The breakdown of Think Ahead’s available support programmes, courses and activities, includes how they have been adapted to comply with current government guidelines on social distancing.

Executive Manager Carol Sankey explains: “As a charity, a big part of how we measure our value to the community is by the number of new stroke survivors and carers we help each month, and patient referrals from local health and social care professionals are a crucial link to the people who need our help.

“We’ve realised that our available services have changed significantly over recent years, and have adapted even further in light of the coronavirus pandemic, so it was felt that a newsletter would be a helpful addition to keeping everyone up to date on what we’re up to.”
