Hi there, my name’s Alex Yoxall from Think Ahead Stroke.

On Sunday October 3rd I’ll be running the London Marathon and I’d love you to join me.

Don’t worry - I don’t mean literally. I mean in spirit. To share in my agony adventure.

And to be honest, I’ll need all the support I can get.

It’s my FIRST EVER marathon!

I’d never really thought about running so far before, but when the chance came to help Think Ahead I couldn't say no.

For two reasons.

Firstly, for my mum.

In 2014 a stroke turned her life, and the family’s, upside down. The support that Think Ahead Stroke provides is exactly what stroke survivors, like my mum, need and deserve.

She’s the strongest woman I’ve ever known. She’s my hero. If I can only channel just a little of her strength I’ll fly around the course - this is for her.

Secondly for Think Ahead Stroke.

Throughout COVID they’ve helped hundreds of stroke survivors get online, to feel less lonely, less isolated and still part of the community.

Now they’re creating a dedicated internet media centre to properly train and equip stroke survivors and their carers to become digitally savvy.

But to do that, they need your support.

No support = no media centre.

And that would be rubbish. So a donation here and now would be great. Even if it’s only £10 or £20.

Or you can run your own fundraising event by clicking the fundraising button at the top of the page

I’ll tell you what will work best though. Both

Fire in that £10, £20  or £50 now AND fire up your friends and family to do your own fundraising event.

Let’s get as many folk involved as possible. Even a share on your social media would go a long way!

However generous. However modest. It ALL helps.

Every penny collected will be used to support more stroke survivors, their carers and their families to become digitally savvy.

Are you in? Join me? I’ll smash that 26 miles 385 yards.

You smash some Think Ahead fundraising.

Plan? Let’s do this thing. See you at the finishing line.

Love and blisters,
