Carol Sankey– Charity Administrator

Carol joined the team in 2006 and is the driving force behind the Think Ahead group. She is responsible for the general administration of the Group and works closely with the Trustees on all Charity and financial issues.
She arranges all the General Activity and Working Groups which meet regularly at the Office and organises the Office diary so that the meeting room is used to its full potential. All the varied and topical Guest Speakers that are invited to our monthly General meetings are also recruited by Carol.

Carol also arranges all transport for the General Meetings / Working & Activity Groups / Trips and Respite Breaks which helps to make it possible for our members to take part in group activities.
Communication duties include updating the website at monthly intervals and she is the Editor of the monthly Newsletter and works closely with our Newsletter team to ensure that a copy of the Newsletter is sent to all our members.

Alan Abbott – Marketing Manager

Alan spent a number of years in retail marketing and is primarily concerned with raising awareness of Think Ahead, through effective communication. Working closely with schools and business’ he is also responsible for ensuring that stroke information is available and easy to access. Alan is responsible for fund-raising, organising events and securing sponsorship for those events. Alan also recruits trains and deploys volunteers, providing opportunities for project work for the benefit of the Think Ahead, and for those taking part.

Mike has 16 years experience of care in the community and as Way Ahead Projects Manager is responsible for providing practical support and information to stroke survivors and their carers in the weeks following discharge from hospital. Mike will also recruit and co-ordinate peer mentors in an effort to ensure that stroke survivors and their carers have a point of contact at all times.
