As MP for Leigh and a Government Minister, I’m lucky enough to meet many incredible people from all over the United Kingdom: people who enrich lives and communities through selfless and tireless dedication to others.
As patron, I’ve visited Think Ahead Community Stroke Group on a number of occasions, and I challenge anyone who attends one of its many meetings, activity groups and excursions not to be moved by the bravery and enthusiasm of its members and the dedication shown by staff and volunteers.
For so many of its members, Think Ahead is not just ‘another organisation’, but an enormously positive force, providing the support, information, care and reassurance required to help people not just to ‘survive’ a stroke but rebuild fulfilling and happy lives.
But like any other charity, Think Ahead needs support of all kinds to continue delivering for its members across Wigan and Leigh. If you, your company or organisation is interested in finding out more about Think Ahead, maybe as a contributor or even a sponsor, then I urge you to pick up the phone or go on line and get in touch.
I’m personally proud to be associated with Think Ahead, but even more proud that we can boast such a fantastic organisation working within our community.
