Think Ahead members from across Wigan and Leigh, came together to take part in the fiercely contested Think Ahead Stroke Group ‘Summer Olympics’, on Thursday 19th August at St Peter’s Pavilion, Hindley.

Think Ahead Egg & Spoon RaceThe ‘Summer Olympics’ is an annual event for Think Ahead Stroke Group members and is designed to be fully inclusive with activities that all Stroke Survivors and Carers can take part in including; welly wanging, splat the rat, tin can alley, and the grand finale of the egg and spoon race, London 2012 has nothing on Think Ahead!

Stroke Survivor and Think Ahead member Lila Aspinall said: “The summer Olympics is a fantastic afternoon; it’s a great opportunity for us all to get together and do something fun and a bit different – those Olympians have nothing on us!”

Carol Sankey, Think Ahead’s Charity Administrator, said: “We always have such great fun at our Olympics, and all of our gold medals are hard fought for! “At Think Ahead we aim to restore hope and normality to people, who in most cases are going through the most challenging time of their lives – the Summer Olympics is one small way of doing this.”
