Fishmonger Reels In Think Ahead’s Prize Hamper

Kevin and Susan Barber win Think Ahead HamperStall holders Kevin and Susan Barber of ‘Kev and Sue’s Plaice’ in Wigan Market, have won a luxury hamper following their support for the local Stroke Awareness Charity, Think Ahead Community Stroke Group.

The winning ticket was purchased during December when Think Ahead attended Wigan market to sell their annual Christmas Bows to raise Stroke Awareness across the Borough.  Visitors to the market were invited to decorate the Christmas tree with a red bow costing £1, with all proceeds going to the local Charity to improve the lives of Stroke Survivors, their carers and families across Wigan and Leigh.

Kevin and Sue are fairly new to Wigan Market having only been open for 7 months. Kevin said, “We try our best to support local Charities as much as possible and have been glad to support such a worthy cause”. Kevin also said, “This is the first thing I have ever won, after winning my wife of course, so thank you to Think Ahead”.

Mike Aspinall, Think Ahead Chairman said, “I would like to give my congratulations and thanks to Kevin and Sue, and say a big thank you to the Council and Wigan Markets for making us part of their Christmas Bow event once again.  Another big thank you also goes to 4 local Co-op Food Stores for donating goods for the prize hamper and of course a thank you to all that bought bows and didn’t win this year, better luck next year”!

Wigan Market Hall - Hamper WinnersMike continues: “2012 promises to be a big year for Stroke care in Wigan with major improvements to hospital and community care and Think Ahead will play an important part in all these changes.”
